Most of us might be familiar with the expression “living in the now”. We keep hearing about people compelling us to “seize the day”, to make the best out of our lives and experience every day as if it was our last day ever on this earth. This idea is certainly inspirational and uplifting, but it’s not as easy to follow in real life as it appears. How did you get started? How did your life to the fullest? Ulrike set out to answer to these timeless questions with tact and finesse, posing the focus on the right questions to ask. Why should you live in the now, to begin with? Once you acquire clarity in your mind, in your heart and your soul… only then will you be able to understand how to do it. Ulrike keeps reminding us about a very important fact that Olsen goes unnoticed: the real revolution, the real change can only begin from within oneself. Hailing from Austria, Ulrike is a driven, passionate and charismatic artist with nearly 20 years of experience within the entertainment industry from TV productions to the Hollywood hills. Her passion for metaphysics eventually led her to develop as an inspirational author on a full time basis, striving to help her students in the effort of reaching their full potential through workshops and private classes. Ulrike inspires, coaches and teaches following simple, yet effective and well calibrated philosophies, including her thinking set of concept known as "modern though theories", widely expressed through many of her publications, including books the likes of "Because you can", "Inspire your day", "The seeds will sprout somewhere", as well as recent work "Forever…and 365 days". From the title to the very last sentence, it is easy to find lots of genuine inspiration, care and understanding within Ulrike's work. She is deeply committed to helping people find out how to give a direction to their life, or even better, how to understand their direction. We are constantly affected by the stress of modern day living; especially in a day and age where society is always shape-shifting, often at a pace we can't keep up with. Oftentimes, our behavior is affected by our fear or by our troubles relating to what we think others expect of us…and what we expect from ourselves. In the words of William W. Walter…"You cannot add to a vessel that's already full. First, you must empty the contents, then there will be room for the new". Let go of the weight affecting your heart, mind and soul. Only then will you finally be able to embrace a suitable path that will lead you to happiness, productivity and fulfillment. Ulrike's books and teachings are all about this mindset.

You might be tired of listening to the same tropes writing teachers say. Then you haven't found Holly Lisle. After thirty years in commercial publishing, Holly's gone self-published and she'd never ever go back. Waiting for her royalties from her publisher and desperate to fend of the repo-man, Holly turned to self-publishing to pay the bills. In 2006 she launched her "How To Think Sideways" programs and realized self publishing could give her a monatary comfort level commercial publishing never could. But what Holly created was a course on how to build a writer. On her website she says, "Do you want to write fiction for a living? That entire process, from learning how to come up with ideas through writing your fiction, revising it, and dealing with agents, editors, and publishers—or publishing yourself—is what I teach here." She not only teaches writing--she teaches you how to take apart your own mind and put it back together--sideways. And the results are in the proof of her students. The first teaching course is how to write flash fiction that doesn't suck. The 3 week course is FREE. Upon the grand opening of the course several of her students went on to sell their flash fiction and recieved prestigous awards. This Tuesday's tools is Holly's FREE course. That sounded more insulting in my head. Twitter as a tool other than tweeting? Oh heck yeah! Of course! What's more social proff than a social media service that you see everywhere in your streams? Have you ever tried to reach out to someone on twitter for services? Not the type of thing where you go...oh, they seem nice, what do they do? And then you go on to buy a service of theirs. But the type of thing where you go looking for specific services. As I look at my new followers I wonder--hey, I might need their services. But when I think I need a service or someone like my new VA, my first thought is elance, odesk, fiverr, etc. Have you ever searched on twitter for a resource or service? Doesn't it make sense to go through the people you've connected with for help? Conversly, if you offer a service make sure you have your website and an explaination of what you offer on your profile! Some of you I'd hire right from the info I find there. ACTION ITEM: Make sure you include the hashtag of what you do so people can find you when looking ![]() Hello Marketing, We've been friends now for some time. I'm so glad we're friends!! But I need help and therefore I asked...for a VA. The experience has been very positive. My new VA/project manager gets it done! He makes me look good! Like, I actually have my act together. Really, it's a race against my Ultrachron timer going down the to-do-list to get everything done in a day. The VA is taking quiet the load off my plate so I'm able to do more and blog again! Marketing is a constant, you can't stop. It reminds me of writing. But there are questions I've found helpful in my search of finding help. If you get the chance to hire a VA...here are some questions you might want to ask them and yourself: 1. Do they have experience in writing? This actually is a big one. You have to like their work. They just might help you with your blogs. 2. Do they know how to market books? Not necessarily a bad thing if they have a background in marketing, but haven't learned how to market a book. Be prepared to teach or send them on learning expeditons, even if they do know what they're doing. Learning is vital in marketing and writing! 3. What is their idea of communication? Once a week is great for the proactive VA. Sometimes an email daily report is better. Depends on your micro-management issues. 4. Are you ready to let go? You want help, but can't see anyone doing it as good as you. This is a tuffy. Actually giving the torch to someone else is like losing a huge chunk of time and effort, and if they fail? You'll blame yourself. Marketing is hard stuff. Sometimes you need help -- as indie authors you're use to doing it yourself. There are somethings you should do yourself. It's up to you on what to give and when to know what to let go of. ACTION ITEM: Find yourself overwhelmed? Maybe a VA to help you for a few hours every week might give you that time to write. ![]() Article written by ULRIKE The Journey continues “Forever…and 365 days” Three years ago, after a life changing experience, I started my dream of writing and teaching metaphysics. The first book was written within a year, self-published, and full of thoughts which have been cooped up in my mind for eternity. At least this is how it seemed to me. Two inspirational booklets followed with daily affirmations. I was on a quest, a journey that had only just begun. I could taste the fulfillment of a desire born a long time ago. I didn’t know, however, how rewarding and fulfilling this journey would become, but I also didn’t have the faintest idea of the challenges waiting in my path. “Be patient and learn a lesson every day”, I kept telling myself, and I did. I spent every day of 2012 writing my new manuscript. I woke up early each morning, grabbed a cup of coffee while still in my pajamas, and either started to write in bed by hand under a lamp, or walked out to my pool house turned office, and started to type away. The thought of chronicling my own unfoldment came soon after the release of my first book “…because you can!” “What now?” I thought after sending it off to the publisher. What now? How will I spend my days that have been filled with the excitement of writing and imagining? What will replace the time I used applying what I was preaching and writing about, so I could prove to myself that my thought theories worked? I needed to theorize strategies that you, my readers and students, also could absorb and utilize. After all, this book is for you. It is designed to show you ways of living a better life through your own right thinking. Yes, marketing and promoting our work is part of a writer’s job. I know many writers aren’t interested in this part of the journey necessary to succeed as an author. No, we yearn for people wanting to read our thoughts. We want to share what our instinct dictates from within. We want to write. However, learning the marketing/promoting aspects of our business can be quite interesting and fulfilling. My answer to my sincere question “what now?” came through soul-searching, and a few quiet days by myself with my Self. Teaching was always part of my agenda and my students were thriving and making great progress, but what about my own unfoldment. I had to ask myself “How did I do?” and “Did I pass the grade?” I picked up the pencil and started to jot down what had happened the first day of January 2012, my first thoughts, my environment, and what was happening in the city I lived in. How did I react to the people around me, how did I see my immediate world? This journaling of thoughts became a daily obsession. I couldn’t wait to step out into my office, which I lovingly created to reflect my writing spirit. I continued to arise early, mostly when it was still dark – just a slight hint of the awakening of the morning sun – and I wrote what came to mind, my feelings, my emotions, but also my troubles and lessons of the day. I talked to many people, searchers of truth which I met on-line and in person, and I asked them questions and asked them to write their own stories about their daily struggles and victories. I also incorporated many healing examples, one of my favorite topics, with sound metaphysical advice. And so the manuscript grew, day after day, week after week, and soon it became a living document of the thoughts and actions of a metaphysics teacher and writer; a testament to the workings of the mind. In this diary I am sharing private moments and personal experience, stories sent in by friends and strangers alike. I am sharing my best memories of my class work, then and now, and seeing my student’s faces ‘light up’ once they understand a new point. The love I see all around me is testament to my purpose in life. “Better Living through Right Thinking”, a booklet series I am in the process of writing in 2014, was and is my motto. This is what my purpose in life has become. Helping and serving others through positive encouragement, a “you can do” attitude. This is what not only makes students and readers feel good, but it makes me feel terrific! Author Bio: Born in Salzburg, Austria, ULRIKE began a career in Entertainment Events in 1992 at a major Hollywood Studio, a position that would span nearly 20 years in the world of motion pictures and television. In 2011 ULRIKE decided to pursue her path as an inspirational author/writer and metaphysics teacher full time, guiding her students through private classes and workshops. With her concept of right thinking, under the name “Modern Thought Theories”, and her books “…because you can”, “Inspire your Day!”, “The Seeds Will Sprout Somewhere”, and her newest work “Forever…and 365 Days”, she is reaching out to students en masse who are also searching for more meaning in their lives, exposing them to the power of right thinking and the application thereof.
