As always my author had a fairly good idea of what she wanted on her cover. We did our best to accommodate her wishes within reason. For Snow Blood: Season 2 we tried to get Brogio, Selene, Snow Blood and our main characters love interest--Nova on the cover. It was way too crowded. We tried for Nova and Selene. But after deliberation, we decided to go with the familiar element of Snow Blood on the second cover with Selene. As our cover artist said from truenotdreams people might think we're being lazy putting the same image on the second book. But this isn't so. Blending the photo took precision and effort only a cover artist can achieve. The result was a great cover. I really like the human element on the cover and since this story deals with Snow Blood helping Selene with her issues, it made sense. Then there was the subtitle war. On the author's camp the subtitle was too small. Nobody could read it. It MUST BE SEEN! On the publisher's camp the subtitle was perfect because it didn't interfere with the title, didn't overpower the other elements but was still there. There was a back and forth and finally, we did a Pickfu competition. We here at TRP were prepared to go with which ever won. We specified that the subtitle was our issue and we got 50 results back. Each person voting commented on how the subtitle they voted for was easier to read. I couldn't help but laugh. Click the button above to see what I mean. :) And now, with no further extravagance, we give you the contest winner of the Snow Blood: Season 2 book cover poll. We are always proud of our covers, because we work closely with our authors to give them the cover they envisioned. However, experience with other author's gives us knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Together we find something our authors are proud of and can present to their fans with delight.
