It was my lucky day when Troll River Publications decided to publish Luke’s Tale. I had been banging my head against the wall with literary agents who loved it but hesitated to take it on. Go figure. And then I gave it to Stephanie for an honest critique. “What’s wrong with it? Is it unbelievable to folks that a dog can teach us about unconditional love?” I questioned myself out loud with her.
I knew that Stephanie (full disclosure – she’s my daughter - but she’s my toughest critic.) was looking for something special to publish … something in which she truly believed. I didn’t dream that it would be my book. I just value her opinion and wanted complete honesty. I waited for her verdict. I think I held my breath for days! When she came into my office, I prepared myself for the worst. Her words? “I love it! I want to publish it!” Cue the happy dance!
That was the beginning of my real writing career. I had written a memoir, Riding Through It, but it is a “throw-away” book. Something I just wrote for me – memories that needed to be dispelled. After Luke’s Tale and more than 91 reviews , averaging 4.7 out of 5 stars, Stephanie and I came up with a series idea. We named it Snow Blood, and I’m working on the third in the series, after having a great time with Season 1 and Season 2.
So, I’d say that finding someone to believe in my creativity turned out to be my lucky day!

Below is my review of Snow Blood: Season 2. Some people would recommend you read the first book, others say it's easy to catch up. I think it's just a matter of what kind of reader you are. Of course you should read Season 1 because Season 2 is the continuation of the story.

Action packed fun! This time Snow Blood has to help Selene. It's a twist and turn of how good intentions can cause disparity between a relationship. What I gout out of it was that sometimes trying to protect your significant other from pain isn't always the way to go.
We want to sheild our loved ones from the things we go through. We want to protect them, and so we do stupid things like...lie, make deals with enemies, go through hell...all to keep the loved one safe. But denying them that part of you, of your life, is shutting them out and that hurts more.
In Snow Blood 2 all the same players have a vital role. Brogio, the angry Italian vampire is back (What, no garlic? I'm Italian! What, no sunlight? I'm Italian! The hell?? I'm Italian...effing Artemis.)
Of course we have Snow Blood and his pack.
Kane the double dealing, sly, romanticist.
Selene, who's turned badass in this book.
Wolves fighting wolves.
Kresniks (people that turn into eagles)
And we get to see a scary side to Brogio never seen before.
Areal battles...
narrow escapes...
and budding romance.
It's a unique story in a class all it's own! Not your usual vampire or vampire story.

As always my author had a fairly good idea of what she wanted on her cover. We did our best to accommodate her wishes within reason.
For Snow Blood: Season 2 we tried to get Brogio, Selene, Snow Blood and our main characters love interest--Nova on the cover. It was way too crowded.
We tried for Nova and Selene.
But after deliberation, we decided to go with the familiar element of Snow Blood on the second cover with Selene.
As our cover artist said from truenotdreams people might think we're being lazy putting the same image on the second book. But this isn't so. Blending the photo took precision and effort only a cover artist can achieve. The result was a great cover.
I really like the human element on the cover and since this story deals with Snow Blood helping Selene with her issues, it made sense.
